Volunteers

The Cojolya Association offers in-depth volunteer opportunities for graduate students, retired professionals, or experienced individuals searching for a challenging and gratifying volunteer experience in a unique environment.

Volunteers living in Santiago Atitlán will enjoy one of the most spectacular lake settings in the world, with its unique flora and abundant bird populations. All positions will provide the volunteer with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Guatemalan or Maya culture.

The Association will process evaluations for volunteers who are using the volunteer position as part of their graduate program. We accept interns in various areas, for example NGO Management. Please visit www.idealist.org and search for Cojolya Association's posting.

Cojolya invites textile design students at the senior or graduate level for a minimum two month internship experience. The student will have an opportunity to design and produce one or two sample products, including the design of the textile itself. Processes include the opportunity to work closely with Mayan weavers.

A fee is charged for interns receiving credit for their experience at Cojolya. Please, contact info@cojolya.org.
